CNC Machining is the ideal choice for:
- Metal parts or prototypes
- Plastic parts and prototypes
- Post machining of cast parts that require machining or machined surfaces.
- Dies for injection molding
- Die inserts for MUD die frames
Material choices include:
- Steel
- Aluminum
- Zinc
- Delrin
- Plastics (including ABS, Polycarbonate, Teflon, etc.)
Dimensional tolerances:
- CNC / EDM = +/- 0.001” or less
Turn-around:
- 3 to 6 weeks
Finishing types:
- A wide variety of finishes are available, including bead blast, polish, texturing, lapping, anodizing, chemical filming, plating and more.
3D-CAM’s Computerized Numerically Controlled (CNC) machining centers create parts and molds to your exact specifications direct from your CAD model. We can also work with IGES, STEP, Parasolid, Native CAD, and other similar files.
These multiple-tool mills can be used to machine both plastic and metal prototypes as well as aluminum or steel molds for plastic injection-molded parts.
Total turnaround time is 3 to 6 days for parts, and 3 to 6 weeks for molds depending on the project size and requirements. For creating small, difficult shapes in metal tools, we have Electric Discharge Machines (EDMs) that utilize an extremely accurate electrode to burn away metal from the base to create cavities.
CNC machining is also used to produce steel or aluminum insert tooling for MUD frame systems.
